Hi, Victor Funa. Although you have the latest available ATI RADEON HD4650 drivers for Windows 7 64-Bit, from the dates I believe that what you are experiencing is likely as Mark suggested. See You may also want to run a SFC (System File Checker) scan which will check and fix any corrupted files on your system. Steps to perform SFC scan: 1.
Click the Start button 2. From the Start Menu, Click All programs Accessories 3. In the Accessories menu, right-click on the Command Prompt option 4. From the drop down menu that appears, select the 'Run as administrator' option 5. Authorize any User Account Control (UAC) elevation request. In the Command Prompt window, type: sfc /scannow (including the space rior to the backslash) and press Enter 7.
A message will appear stating that 'The system scan will begin' 8. Be patient because the scan may take some time 9. If any files require replacing SFC will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Vista DVD for this process to continue 10.
If everything is okay you should, after the scan, see the following message 'Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations' 11. After the scan has completed, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check.
Corrine, Microsoft MVP (Consumer Security). This posting is provided 'AS IS' without warranty, and confers no rights. Hello, Corrine! Well, the version I have is the Catalyst 9.9, and the one the link you sent has is the Catalyst 9.7 Even though, I have installed the driver you sent, but it didn't work either.
The SFC scan didn't find anything as well.
I had the same problem with my LG monitor and an Nvidia graphics card from Dell. Tikka serial number year guide. I had to run a Dell recovery file from a boot CD. There is a list of instructions that I got from this link: And I found the Dell Recover file at this link: I followed the directions and it worked. On a side note, the directions say to: 'Shut down the computer. Disconnect the power cables from both the monitor and the computer.
Disconnect the VGA cable, and reconnect the monitor to the computer via the DVI cable. Press the power button for both the monitor and computer while unplugged to drain any remaining power. Re-attach the power cables to both the monitor and the computer.' This process alone may have fixed the problem, but I ran the boot CD anyway to be safe. Try it and see. Thanks tons for this. My LG E2351 LED 23' external display for my macbook pro 17' was refusing to run at any resolution higher than 1440x900.
I had somehow gotten it to 1920x1080 but when I unplugged my laptop, found myself stumped for 5 hours. Every time I would set display to 1920x1080, I would get the good old 'D-SUB POWER SAVING MODE' message on the display. I tried turtle shell sleep / wake method and got it back briefly but then lost it again when laptop was opened. The directions that you posted got it straightened out on the first pass. Brought my gear from the US to Africa, and not like I can take it back to best buy or go shopping for different cables:).
For anyone having this issue where your computer goes into power save mode and you cannot get it out without turning computer off and back on. I had this problem for awhile. Cleaning out dust and reseated memory, no change. Finally, one AM my computer wouldn't turn on. Wound up being the power supply. I have a Dell desktop, power supply was simply not powerful enough.
Upgraded to a larger power supply. Installed myself. Computer booted up perfectly and no issues coming out of power save mode anymore. Did you get drivers and software with you LG monitor. If you didn't you can download them from LG's site.
I had a similar problem. It started after my old Dell CRT monitor gave out and I got a flat screen LG HD monitor. It would go to sleep, and not come back. No key would bring it back. The Num lock and Caps Lock both worked from key input. The hard drive would run, but the only thing that would bring the monitor back was a reboot.
Dell Dimension 4600 P4 2.8ghz Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 (Dell Card) LG W2361(analog) Monitor Windows XP Pro. Reinstall from a non-Dell windows disk. Video card drivers from windows or found online instead of from Dell I reinstalled drivers from Dell for this card after a crash and error notices that I had incompatible drivers. This helped with other things but did not stop the monitor shut downs and reboots. I did not try replacing the system (BIOS) battery. I shut off all screen saver power functions to never (turn off monitor, turn off disk drives, and system standby), but it still shut down after several hours. I finally sat down and researched it and experimented a bit.
1) I installed the monitor drivers that came with the LG monitor. I was previously using just the display “plug and play” drivers from Microsoft that it picked automaticly. 2) I also installed the ForteManager software that came with the LG. This fixed the problem completely. It wakes up just fine now from all screen saver power modes (screen saver, not really a power saver mode, monitor shut down, disk drive shut down, and stand by system). Works like it is supposed to. PS I had previous heat problems with the CPU (Not the video card) and installed a cooling fan on the CPU cooling fins.
Prior to installing the fan the whole machine would shut down when the CPU overheated during intense activity, like reinstalling Windows XP. I also leave the cover off the card slot opening for the next slot below the video card so air is drawn in over the video card processor's heat sink. It stays pretty cool that way.
